California Comforts' history
Jan and I had realized our dream when we opened our first furniture store in San Jose, California in April 1987. By 1990, our dream had expanded to include stores in Capitola, Fresno, and Clovis. In 1994, we consolidated our efforts in Capitola and Santa Cruz so Jan could concentrate more of her energy on her healing from a life-threatening illness.
Since the beginning, we have been concerned and often involved in the manufacturing of the products that we provide. Our commitment has always been to superior quality and excellence from the manufacturing level to the retail level.
In 2002 Jan decided to focus her full attention on Healing Journeys, a non-profit organization she founded to serve those touched by a life threatening illness. Since then, I have continued to provide the same high quality product and service at California Futons.
In 2007, with a product expansion that better serves our customers, we changed our name to California Comforts. Our commitment to excellence has not changed. Our 20 years of experience has only made us better at meeting your furniture needs.
