After 23 years of business, California Futons, a Santa Cruz community staple, will be closing its doors. While it’s sad to say goodbye, we know that the time is right and it’s the right decision.
When we began, “futon” was an exotic word and product. Now, decades later, futons are mainstream. Everyone knows what they are and you can buy them almost anywhere. There is no longer a need for a futon specialty store, especially in today’s economic climate.
We are proud of pioneering the way to make futons mainstream, the innovations that became industry standards and brought the futon into the future. We began custom making our own futons by hand, using all natural and organic materials to improve comfort and durability. We were the first to bring to market the glider lock system, allowing you to easily adjust from bed to sofa and anywhere in-between.
California Futons feels honored to have been part of this great Santa Cruz community for so many years and we hope you’ll stop in to see us one more time to say goodbye. We’ve lasted this long only because of you, and it has been our joy to serve you.
